What is ‘The Jazz Lesson You Didn’t Ask For’

I’m glad you asked.

When my wife and I have our morning coffee together, she will sometimes challenge me by playing an audio clip of a saxophone player or sometimes another jazz musician (trumpet, piano, etc) to see if I can guess who the musician is.

Lots of times this will be followed by me giving her a bit of jazz history about this player which she did not ask for. This is “The Jazz Lesson You didn’t ask for”

I will be adding posts with personal stories and some jazz history about jazz musicians as well as the occasional album or music recommendation.
